Plenty of Liverpool fans vented their frustrations at their Brazilian star Roberto Firmino after he was substituted early during their Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday evening.

The Reds found themselves largely frustrated during the second period after starting the game strongly, but the 29-year-old was rarely involved in any significant build-ups of play.

Firmino has come under intense scrutiny after only getting one goal to his name all season, but his manager has stuck by him (cited by the Daily Mail), even though he only managed to find the net once at Anfield during the Reds’ Premier League title-winning campaign last year.

Sofascore recorded that Firmino failed to make any key passes during the game, and that he had no shots on goal and only made one successful dribbling attempt.

With this in mind, supporters are rapidly beginning to lose patience with the Brazil international, who appears to be stuck in a rut that he can’t get himself out of.

Fans fume at under-performing Firmino
