Liverpool hero Dominik Szoboszlai opened up about his world-class strike late in the game as the Reds edged out Arsenal 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday. The Hungarian midfielder, who slotted in as a makeshift right-back at Anfield, took the set-piece from 25 yards and his thunderous strike went past David Raya to seal three crucial points for his side.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  Curtis Jones won Liverpool the free-kick after being brought down by Martin Zubimendi with a poor challenge. The Spanish midfielder was shown a yellow card, while the hosts were awarded the set-piece nearly 25 yards from goal. Szoboszlai stepped up and unleashed a thunderous strike that soared into the top right corner.

  After the match, the Hungary international opened up on his world-class strike as he also aimed a cheeky dig at former team-mate and current Real Madrid full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 24-year-old told : "Luckily we could practice some free-kicks. I felt this was a bit further. I was like 'I'll take the risk'. I was confident in myself, I tried it…finally [I've scored from a free-kick]. When you practice all the time, now I should mention Trent because he was taking the free-kicks in the past. Finally I could have my chance and did it."

  Szoboszlai also revealed his training regime, adding: "This shot I didn't practice in the past few weeks because we were shooting closer. I had to take a risk and shoot a little bit harder because I knew Raya likes to jump behind the ball. It's an unbelievable goalkeeper. If it goes a bit more inside, he saves it."
