Fulham manager Marco Silva was keen to hold on to Willian after he scored five goals and provided two assists in 37 appearances across all competitions for Fulham last season – as per . The west London club even offered him a new one-year contract but the forward chose to find a fresh challenge instead of continuing in the Premier League.

Willian passed his medical in Piraeus before signing a one-year contract with the reigning Europa Conference League winners. Apart from Willian, Jose Luis Mendilibar is eager to bolster his squad with further reinforcements and has been linked with another former Chelsea player, Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan winger, currently with Galatasaray, is reportedly looking for a move away from the Turkish club, and Olympiacos could be a potential destination.
